Here's one I'd like to know if it is possible. My communty may have individual users, people. But it may also have different types of business users. Someone may register as a business and not an individual.

So I'd like to have TWO different profiles or more. One for individuals, one for businesses of certain types. Myspace does this where they have one type or registration and profile for people, and one for bands or artists.

CAN COMMUNITY BUILDER have multiple types of profiles and registration?

Upon registering I'd like it to ask "individual or business registration?" Then when they select which one it takes them to a specific registration geared toward what they selected.

That would be COOL.

I would like this very music as well. At the moment we have bands and artists on our site as well as ordinary joe public but we have not way to distinguish between them two.

I'm not a coder so all I can do is offer to help test if someone does come up with this.

I've created a way to make multiple user types and display them individually with a custom list, but I haven't figured out if there is a way to give each their own specific registration fields. I am using individual, band, and artist profiles.

Anyone know if this can be done?

I have 'struggled' with the same problem, what i have done:

My 'special members' on the website i have promoted to joomla group: Author.
With other words, you can add much funtions to the special members. Much components you can set on more functions for 'special'! I even have a gamecomponent greated, the Highscores are just being stored when a 'special member' play. I even have a 'now online module'. If a user is special member then they appear above of the list with a icon on the right

Go on and go on.

Not a bad idea but the main concept is different registration forms/fields for different types of users...

You can create different registration fields for different usertypes with conditions plugin.
