I actually testing a plugin provided by Krileon, but needs improvments...Maybe your's may complete/replace this problem...

The user must exist before you can update them; you need to first create the user (VM Integration plugin does this) then use an update query to update their information. You should review the database tables to help structure your query, but the problem is there's 4 database tables the user must be inserted/updated in. You need to also handle those tables.
