I have installed UddeIM v1.2 Beta 2 and it works very good, but in my site all german Umlaute like ä,ö,ü, etc.. are broken.

Site www.veggie.de

They look like A²/3 etc..

Look here

But this is only when you are in "home". When you navigate to another Menüpoint then everything is ok. And when you navigate back to "home" the error appears. What is wrong, i do not believe it is because the legacy mode.

EDIT I have found out that the error only occures by the URL

http://www.veggie.de

On the URL http://www.veggie.de/index.php everything is fine.

EDIT 2: Solved the problem. I have changed in the configuration.php the name of the live site from http://www.veggie.de to http://www.veggie.de/ and now everything works fine

Edit 3: Nothing solved, the error occures again, also with the URL veggie.de(index.php

I give up..

Edit 4: Error solved, the enabled Cache Plugin was the Guilty..

Thats not a problem with uddeIM but your site template.

You site template claims no character encoding so the browser thinks it is Latin-1 encoded:

But you are using UTF-8 characters and since you are using J1.5 uddeIM delivers UTF-8 which is the correct behaviour.

Add a line to your template that you are using UTF-8 encoding and everything is fine.

btw: who shall I bill for this non-uddeIM related support?

Thx slabbi

I have modified my Template and now UddeIm works with Cache Plugin enabled too. The only question is why there is no error when the cache Plugin from Joomla was disabled? But this makes no matter anymore..
