GD2 library not installed

My GD2 library 2.0.28 is bundled with php 4.4.6 but is not being detected by CB 1.1.
the following is from php info:
GD Support enabled
GD Version bundled (2.0.28 compatible)
GIF Read Support enabled
GIF Create Support enabled
PNG Support enabled
WBMP Support enabled
XBM Support enabled
already modified imgToolbox.class.php to detect ImageMagick and NetPBM
my setup:
Apache 1.3.37
MySQL 4.1.22
PHP 4.4.6 w/ GD 2.0.28
Joomla 1.5.7 legacy mode
CB 1.1
Gallery 2 detects all 3 image libraries with no problem, but can't get CB to see GD2.
GD2.so does not exist on my server.
HELP?

Refer to the stickies in the long list of Bugs in the CB 1.1 -> Bugs section. CB 1.1 was made to run on J1.0, so there are a lot of issues when running on 1.5. Also, most developers won't support PHP 4 anymore. You may want to upgrade to PHP 5 for maximum performance and security.
If you're determined though, the stickies I referred to contain fixes, as well as the FAQ link in my signature.

Want to speed up the release of CB 1.2 Plugins? Before posting, please read CB 1.1 Bugs stickies or CB 1.2 Identified Issues and the FAQs and Search the forum and the Web for your error. If not found, post Joomla, CB, PHP, Database and Browser versions, along with the exact error you are getting and results. Fewer posts for the developers to sift through will result in faster releases!
If you're looking for CB plugins, try the Downloads section, Directory (new) section or Joomla Community Builder-specific extensions and check the extension developers site for plans to integrate or plugins that already integrate CB 1.2. Also, if you find other requests already posted, please just add your request to the thread instead of creating a new one. Thanks!
