i am looking for a way to have the othermenu only displayed when the public(not logged in) views a members profile but not when on any other pages. seems simple enough?
is this possible and if so how?
Sean

I would like to know if it possible too, but as much I understand, this issue is a Joomla thing. For example, how can you display "othermenu" only when guest/member click on item which is not on any Menu? - All that because we can control "othermenu" only as module.

i don't know if this is the best answer, but it seems to work, i am running, 1.0.13 and what i did was in the settings for the othermenu module, under Menu Item Link(s): i selected unassigned and all of the items in the othermenu. but not to any pages i where i did not want it to appear (like home for example.) i would think there was a better way....

You could just assign the "other" menu to the comprofiler component... CB WISHLIST
1. Contextual (member type) registration fields (business, personal, artist etc). 2. Photo gallery style search results (like myspace) 3. Comments on profile gallery photos. 4. Auto resize profile images in backend. 5. Customizable user web pages (see tagworld) 6. Images in CB fields/tabs.

digging for info in the documentation now, but i see no setting for assigning a module to a component, only template position and a menu item... i am using 1.0.13 is this a 1.5 option?
could you mean create a link within othermenu for the comprofiler component and assign to that? Sean

Exactly.. each component usually has a corresponding menu item (so people can access it)
