getting search to work

How do i get the search function to work for my members.. I love this software. But if the users cant search for other users its almost pointless.... I know there is a funciton. I cant find it anywhere and have no idea on how to make it work..

CB 1.2 has it built in.

For other versions there is an advance search component.

It's built into the member list which is built into CB.
