Well, I tried quickly 
I will need to debug it on a test-installation, but will do it after CB 1.2 beta 7 is in testteam, as its probably a bug in joomfish's database layer.
In the mean time, please forward the bug above to joomFish team, we really need to have the mysql cursor returned by their query() method, same as joomla does.
It looks like there is more, but the above is a confirmed joomla compatibility bug of joomFish 2.0 beta. I did some testing and it looks like a joomfish problem because it also wouldn't work together with the FB (Fireboard) component. The report was sent to the joomfish bugforum http://www.joomfish.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=855
Anyway suggestions appreciated
