Ok, I'm not really sure this is a bug or a feature request:
I set the profile gallery plugin's access to "Author" and set the gallery tab access to "Connections only"
However, I see that members who are not "Authors" may still access the gallery if they are on that member's "Connections" list.
Based on the backend settings both conditions should be applicable (i.e. user must be an author AND on the member's connections list to view the gallery).
Is there an easy fix for this?

My plan was to make it so that people who donated to support the site were promoted to "authors" whih would entitle them access to certain features, such as the gallery plugin, private messaging, chatroom, etc.
Don't take this to mean I am disappointment tho. The plugin is excellent!

Nant,
I decided to just re-install my entire site. Everything is working ok now. 
I have no idea what was causing the issue but it appears to be "fixed".
