Locking the username

Is there a way the username can be locked?
I have a signup process that requires a specific login name (for standardization purposes) and would need to "reset" the username if necessary when an admin approves then lock it so the user cannot change it.

In the backend you can set this. Go to the 4th tab(user profile) and set the first option to No. That will do the thing.

Sorry, i don't have actually the CB RC2. Is it possible in this version to lock other fields like name or email-adress?

No, however, i can easily imagine a plugin changing the "User Read Only?" status to 'YES' after a profile update when and if that particular target field was filled in.
