Passing Joomla Configuration Variables

Hello. I'm working on making the CB-SMF plugins SEF compatible. I found a "trick" that may do it, but first I have what is hopefully a quick question...

In short, how do I pass Joomla's configuration variables to my plugins? Now, some of the variables (i.e., $mosConfig_user or some such) are passing with no problems. However, I noticed that not all of the vars are getting through.

Any quick hints or tricks? Thanks!
