Does your website have the default "jos_" prefix for Joomla tables? if not than you will need to modify the mentioned line (or above the mentioned line) in the inc_cbconnector.php to reflect the table prefix of your site.

Yes, my global config settings show this-> MySQL Database Prefix: jos_

is there another place to check?

Does the table exist? are both phpbb and Joomla/CB installed in the same database?

phbb was working within my Joomla site just fine. I installed CB this morning and followed the instructions in this thread because the 'register' link on my phpbb page was giving errors.

how do i see if the specific table exists?

Go into the database with something like phpMyAdmin (or other tool that your webhost has available)... look at the database being used for Joomla... then look for the table.
