All you need to do is replace the comprofiler.php file with the one pasamio posted (page 2 of this thred).
I had the same problems as you - upgrade, password stuff broken with cb. Downgrade (or try to), and boom, invalid password everywhere.
Replacing the file fixes it.
(The new joomla core uses a better password system)

I did the Joomla update and use the corrections from the txt, now i cant login and my db profile data is lost.

Update to fix the pie error, was a debugging check to show things failing on password update that i forgot to remove at 3am in the morning. This one shouldn't have that error.

I can't replicate that error, might be caused by sef, i'm not sure.
