4) for sure cb is installed... i think you didn't see all 2 messages was from me (i hope), all info are like previous post, only i tried to upgrade joomla to last version hoping was i joomla version..
Before install Captcha 2.0 was installed previous Captcha version and all was working good.

sorry - wasn't really clear about what your problem is.

Hi,
First of all, very nice update on the new CB Captcha plugin. But I have one question, "are we going to see the public (non-subscription) version release soon or do we have to subscribe to the 'Documentation Service' in order to get it?

This is a great plug-in. I had the problems with the image but setting the CHMOD to 755 as described solved the problem.
However I couldn't find the ReadMe file anywhere. I did not remove Captcha 1 first so perhaps why that is why there was a problem.
