That would be a very bad idea. The fact that only registered users can do this ensures that you can back track any abuse to a spicific user. If you allowed this with non registered users, in other words the general public, you would be inviting wide spread spam and other abuses to your site.

I seem to have trouble making user lists viewable to the public as well. I selected "everyone" in the configuration. The list still shows as unauthorized when not logged in.

Joomla 1.0.4 CB RC2.
Any thoughts?

Why that ? Joomla should have a standard email cloacking feature.

And an email form woul mean that you do not have to show the email addr.

Well I have not found a great way to deal with this, but it is important for me to find a solution.

Grrrr. Is this a bug?

How can I set a list with profile info to appear on the site?

This would be a publicly accessible directory with info supplied by users.

HOW DO I DO THIS? Can someone please help?

Have you followed the following steps:

  • CB->Configuration backend, User Profile tab, set Allow Access to 'Everybody' (this means that the actual profiles are now publically viewable)
  • Now to get to a profile it would be a good idea to make a publically accessible CB List: So make sure your CB Lists menu item is on the main menu and is set for public viewing
  • Also, make sure that your default list is viewable by Everybody (in the CB List backend for the default list this means that the User Group to allow access to: parameter must be set to everybody

If you have done ALL the above then you shouldnt have problems.

Thanks, Nick. Your checklist worked!

Either you're a good teacher or I'm a pretty good student!

Can I get two quick follow up questions?

Question 1)

The list is being exported to this URL:

....index.php?option=com_comprofiler&task=userslist&Itemid=36

How do I get that list to appear on the home page?

Question 2)

How can I change the way the list is formatted?

For example:

Insert a space between each record?
Have some of the field names appear bold?

Remove the buttons <Start> <Prev> <Next> <End>
Delete the search field and the "...has X registered users.." message.

And so on?

Thanks in advance!
