I don't think anyone disputes the work that went into it; rather, I think we would be better served taking the standard boiler-plate response: 'It'll be ready when it's finished.'
I think the distinguished gentleman who pointed out the number of '2 days' alerts, coupled with the '4 to 10' day alerts, has a valid point.
Were they to do it over, I can only assume no timeframes would be given...just ready when it's ready.

Those of us who've managed a project know well the 95% progress syndrome.
Let's not impair their morale, we know it'll be ready soon and that it'll be good with all its bugs.
Those who face deadlines can use the previous versions, that work quite well.

Surely you'll be surprised if it's next week.
I have worked in software development for over 10 years, so I'm well aware of how development processes work or can be delayed. However, this project has had plenty of "scope creep", and it hasn't been communicated very well to the customers.
When you are expecting something in a few weeks, and instead it takes many months, is what I'm frustrated about. I would rather have something promised later, and come out ahead of schedule. The current communication about "next month/2 weeks/2 days", not only makes this project look bad, it makes everyone depending on it look bad when the dates aren't met.
I never said they weren't working hard; it's obvious that everyone is. If I didn't value everyones hard work, and believe they are going to have a great piece of software - I wouldn't be waiting this long for it. This is a huge project and I am sure they are doing a very good job. I know everybody working on it wants to put out a quality product, and I appreciate it!

I agree
We all know what it takes to built something complex, so a bit of understanding would be in place here
And if people in here think that the informationlevel is low/slow, just take a look on a simular project www.joomunity.org
Absolutely no information for many month about anything... So to hear news from CB just makes me glad
Many in here tels that 1.1 can be installed and used until the release of 1.2. For myself i can tell that the design of 1.1 don´t match with my site, so thats not possible if i want a good result -
But i will wait til i get the mail from CB Team, that i desperately are waiting for
Untill then... Keep smiling! A lot of energy is saved cause it takes les muscles to smile than look mad

Hey guys,
keep cool. I wait too on the new release of CB 1.2 and sure it´s not nice to say in 2 days or in 2 weeks and the new version comes not out... but beat and all other developers mean it only good. So let them the time that they need.
I think a good way is the Beta Release for the Subscribers so that everyone have the chance and show on the new features for TESTING but not for productive...
but in hell dont spoil the work of delevopers, spend your energy in help on it

thanks burritodan for your background.
I know that communication around a project is responsible for more than 50% of all disagreements. I myself, a dutch technical student, how makes a few site a year just for the fun of it, so i'm not depending on this for my daly income.
But I do understand that the use of beta's and/or RC's in "production" sites is highly disputed. As CB1.2 will be released to the docsubscribers as a RC, before the final version is released to the general public, it wouldn't be advisable to depend on it so much that current projects are overdue.
So every one out there CB 1.1 is working just fine and if you're so sure of yourself that you can't survive whit-out CB1.2.... well that's your problem than but stop telling everyone that you want it that much. The guy over worked him self to get it done.
I like to play whit it as well, but you don't here me crying about it.
No flame but i just like to here the important stuff from the builders.
CB Team keep up the good work If it doesn't fit.... use a bigger hammer
