Content author plugin, can I bypass sections?

Hi, as far as I've seen, it's not possible to decide on exclude sections from content author plugin.
Would be possible to add the option for it? or hack it somewhay?
Right now I have a blog component that takes advantage of joomla section/cats system, and also has a CB plugin for making blog posts appear in a 'blog tab' unfuortunatelly, they also appear in article tab as they are...
I would like to have, as you have in joomla frontpage, the option to decide, which on the secions/categories I want to appear or not in the artciles tab.
