[solved]how to make new friends?

I enabled the 'connections' plugin and tab. It shows omn the profile-page, but how to make new connections? I would expect a link on another users profile page 'be friends with this person' or so, or edit in profile-edit.
what am I overlooking?

. You can then Connection->Request Connection menu item (located on the top of the profile you are viewing) in order to request to connect to this person.
aha. I took that menu out (because it is so ugly) and made menu items pointing to the same functionality in a user-menu.
So I will make it visible again to get the urls to make connections and do the same thing.

I did try and search for "how to make connections" but the text got cut of because the search field is too short. searching for make or making connections did not give me that faq. thank for the help.
