Possible Bug in Registration system

As just replied on bug tracker:

This text and checking are incoherent, fully agreed.

I changed this to "not a CB bug", since both texts and checks come from Joomla... :)

Joomla is affected by same inconsistency.

You should add bug to the Joomla 1.0 bug tracker. Please report artf number as comment to your cb bug report in cb bug tracker, so I will track and follow upon what joomla core decides.

In the mean time, there is a validation plugin for CB which can be changed slightly to enforce more strict username rules ;)

Have done - artf4555.

I'd be grateful if you could post a link to the validator code - I can't seem to find anything that looks like this in the downloads section.

Best regards,
Gareth

My site is accepting spaces, "[" and "{".

I tested the com_registration and it does not allow these characters. But the Comprofiler does.

Is there anyway to fix this??

Tks,

Taurian

Just tested:

Joomla 1.5 doesn't allow this, while Joomla 1.0.11 allows it.

Actually, Joomla 1.5 allows the "["...

Upcoming CB 1.0.2 will get in sync with Joomla 1.5 when runing in Joomla 1.5, while staying compatible with Joomla 1.0.x when running on Joomla 1.0.x. (it's our policy to follow core rules).
