Just an FYI for others. When I recently upgraded JCE editor to 1.5.3 on my site, I noticed that the tabs on a frontend edit user profile page where messed up. Specifically, any tab that followed a JCE textarea was no longer tabbed. I was able to fix this by patching JCE 1.5.3. You can find the patch here:

Plugin Version 1.5.6

Buy change does anyone have this old patch? I tried to get it from the JCE site but it does not seem to be available anymore.

I am wondering if the same "issue" has made it back into JCE.
