Is there an option to flag a video as public so that I can aggregate them and show them in my landing page. Also wanted to know, if there is an option where I can add a video (upload a video to the site instead of just linking to you tube or vimeo?

No, videos are either published or not. The tab it self can be set to public, but it will affect all videos posted for that group. There is no upload feature (planned for after CB 2.0).
