I am new to the whole Joomla world and part of a group setting up our first website.

The website is for a social group with a number of different activities.

Membership is of the 'umbrella' group and zero or more special interest groups.

Currently we are on Joomla 1.5.14 with CB and ccBoard for a forum tool.

Ideally we want to be able to provide 'members only' areas for each special interest group where only registered members of that group can see the content. This would allow us to post extra information such as locations of meetings, personal phone numbers and home and email addresses to be visible to group memebers only.

A bonus would be to have a 'members only' forum within ccBoard where members of a specific group could discuss group matters in confidence.

From what I have discovered so far it seems that GroupJive can do most of this (please confirm) but I am not sure that it can partition fora within ccBoard. If it can partition fora, can it prevent non-members from viewing or only from posting?

Am I looking at the right add-on?

If not, do you have any recommendations?
