I am trying to create lists that should not appear searchable on other lists.

First please upgrade to CB 1.2.3, your release is out of date. I'm not quite sure what you're referring to. A userlist is not searchable by another userlist. Do you mean the fields on the userlist? Only way to achieve this is create a delimiter field and use substitutions to display the fields value then place that delimiter field on 1 userlist while placing the actual field on the other userlist. Please see tutorials within my signature for substitution usage information.
