Exact Joomla version? CB version? FBC version? Have you tested with default template as some 3rd party templates are missing the message tag preventing you from being informed of errors. FBC is still subject to duplicate username/email address issues. Meaning if bob@example.com is already registered and the email address coming from Facebook is bob@example.com you'll get a registration error as duplicate email can't be registered.

I am running Joomla 1.5.20
I have CB version : cbfbc_1.8
I have tested with several of the default which come with Joomla, then also with the template I'm using now. (the template I want to use for my site is from Lonex)

I have also tried to log in through chrome and IE, with a different email address to log in , I still only logs me into Facebook, however not the actual Joomla site and I don't get the option to register.

with the default template I have also received this message, which I did not get with my own template:

when the user tries to log in via either option.

For the Facebook Connect, I get: "Failed to connect to 69.171.228.19: permission denied"

For the Twitter Connect, I get: "Failed to connect to 199.59.148.87: permission denied"

I see that these IP address are for Twitter/Facebook respectively, do you know why they currently do not work?

I finally solved this issue, after thinking over my last post, and reading through a few others, I inquired with my provider, who directed me to IP address that needed to be enabled though my back-end (self serve). I fixed all the errors that came up, while trying to connect through twitter and Facebook, I did this through the default template in order to see the errors so i knew which to enable, then once it was working switched back to the template of my choice, the mods still worked there, to my relief as I've had many problems with it. but I'm just glad this issue is solved.

I hope this post help someone else

Thanks for sharing solution - looks like your provider is blocking IPs.
