Using a debug version the error code 6 is returned with the upload, which means the following.
Value: 6; Missing a temporary folder. Introduced in PHP 4.3.10 and PHP 5.0.3.
The means the TMP directory from your environment is either missing or not writable. This is the TMP directory specified in PHP.ini (upload_tmp_dir), not the directory in Joomla. Reviewing your PHP Information this directory (upload_tmp_dir) is not specified. Please contact your host regarding this information so they can address as necessary.

Any chance this is related to my upgrade to CB 1.4? Because I was able to use the profile gallery upload feature before upgrading...just a thought..
