I have a plugin that relies on the trigger on profile update. However it seems that this trigger never gets fired when users edit the ajax text field on their profile.

What solution could I use as substition? I need a trigger to fire a specific function after the text field has been updated.

When checking out the AjaxTextField code I came across a trigger/event prepareFieldDataSave. I wonder if I could/should use this one.
