trial you say that there are free ones
where can i find these??

and why don't you use them instead of the paying script??iám just curiuos :P

i googled and found several scripts.. also a free one.. the problem with the free one was that if you filled in your password and account info.. your msn would go offline.. then no data was retrieved.. if you would then put your msn back online.. and tried to get the lsit again.. the list would appear but only partially.. many contacts where left out..

i.o.w. i searched for the best and found svets scripts to be the most quality.. i dont care for the costs as long as the technology is the best..

you could ask lennox for a version of the free script.. hes got it running on www.nightcity.nl

They are standalone, meaning, they actually run outside of joomla. When i started coding i didn't even know you could put a module on the front page.. *shrug* (still not sure how ppl do that) coding standalone scripts is a hassle and a bit inefficient for the server cpu.

Trail, you can put modules on the frontpage as follows:

Create 2 templates, a frontpage one and a main website one.

On the front page template you just load the modules (create a new template position to publish it in), like you are uses to do in the left or right column.

Then put you main template as default and assign your front template to main->home and top->home menu (or any other home menu).

For the modules you do exactly the same, publish the module in the new template position you created and publish it. On the right hand of you module parameters tab allocate your module to home-> front and top->front only.

How much longer will we need to wait for the release of this excellent component Trail? By the looks of things many people require and are wiling to pay for it.

I was also looking for such a solution; so if you need more beta-testers, don't hesitate. My config: Linux FC1, FC4 and FC5, Joomla 1.0.10 and 1.0.11, CB 1.0.1, uddeim. Web Developper profile.

Question for DJTrail: Does your component provides a solution to invite someone who has not a Google, Yahoo, MSN account? I will love to use the same invitation process (connexion, karma...) with a professional email. If it is not planned, we still can use the Recommand component but the connexion is not automatic.

Take care,

Chris
