i do not know if this is a joomla or CB question but but here goes
my question is, is there a way to show what group you belong to on your CB profile page?
Is it possible to make a field that shows what group you belong to?
group: registered, author, publisher ect

Yes, using a delimiter field add the following substitution.
[usertype]
This will display the users usergroup.
[usertype]
This will display the users usergroup.

where would [usertype] go?
i did the following
type - fields delimter
tab - where ever does not matter
name - does not mater
title does not matter
would [usertype] go in description?
- update
ya it goes in description field
