Is there a plugin to allow the inserting of a CB filed into a general content page?

Yes, certainly there is one. Since you are a PRO member, you have to download, install and activate the CB Content Bot. Found in Incubator Projects.

Substitution Usage help and hints can be found in ProForum or in SubForum for CB Content (Module).
