Auto join : define status as Inactive by default ? was created by pingou
How can I define status as Inactive just after user registration ?
Here is the idea :
1 - During registration users select groups they want to join,
2 - After they click "Register", users must be added to the group, but status should be inactive.
I don't want users to be directly Active (as done by default).
Moderators must approve users before.

You can't, the auto field forces them as active. However, have added the below feature request for implementation to select the status.
