Hi,
Althought that is a little bit bumpy, as I need to find out the user's id first, it definitely works for small groups.
But, is there a batch option to somehow put all my users into some kind of default group? I have currently around 170 users which I need to put in a "members" group. What would be the best way to do that?

There's no batch tool. You'll have to add them 1 by 1 unfortunately. Alternative I guess is to use direct queries to insert group user rows, but that won't fire any triggers so none of the integrations can react. Added the below feature ticket to look into some sort of batch add feature as this has been requested a few times.
