Yes but wouldnt the system change the image size?

Ok well I re-compressed my image down below 100 bilobytes and it uploaded but still did not make thumbnail using imagemagick.

Maybe I am not understanding this correctly but shouldnt ImageMagick or the GD2 library re size the image for the user and create a thumbnail?

I'm having the same issue. Image maximums set at 1024 x 768, 500kb, jpg, and for the thumbnail, 150x150. Upload any type of JPEG file smaller than that, and on the profile page they show up full-size instead of thumbnail size. Tried using both Imagemagick 5.4.7 and GD2 1.6.2.

The thumbnail doesn't seem to be created in either case!

you can only 'use gd and imagemagic' if they are supported on your webhost.

ask your webhost to look into this.

same issue for me as well. The funny thing is that it works perfectly wuen using the path edit/update profil/update picture but it does not work when using edit/update picture.
Any idea??
