After doing some testing it is a IE6/7 problem as I can log in using a netscape browser but not IE7.
This is a big problem and makes this program useless as most users are using IE. Any suggestions before I scratch the site and start new using a different program?? Why can I log into this site (jommlapolis) and not my site, what are you doing different??

My problem has been solved. I was using an older Mambo CMS and just took that off and loaded up the newest Joomla CMS and now everything is working perfect.

After some testing with Joomla 1.08 I found that when Polls were turned off we could not login. Polls need to be turned on and have an actual poll published to the home page. It then works fine.

Nope ... Doesn't look like Joomla 1.0.10 addressed this.

The only work around (not really acceptable from a security stand point) is the 'hide the check me config'

Any other ideas?

I have the same problem in only one of my sites. I'm using joomla 1.0.10.
The weird thing is why I can login in 3 different sites, same configuration, and I can not login in only one.
I realised when I tried to login and the home page shows up with no changes, that if I click on the menu, let's say HOME, then the new page comming up is correctly logged.
