Thanks for your help - but still the same problem

I forgot my versions:
Joomla: 1.0.12 Stable
CB: 1.0.2

The behavior is to be observed only with IE7
IE6 and Firefox works greate

made registration.php executable, have not got any complaints yet...

By the way ... "registration.php" is the core registration and works fine. It can not be part of this behavior??

I was having users that could not register and were getting at http error 403. The cause apparently was that the joomla home page was reached by going through a top level domain that was forwarded to the joomla directory in a .biz domain I own. My solution was to post a simple landing page on the .com, and then an "enter" button that linked to the joomla directory on the .biz domain. Probably some type of security issue using IE7.

Hope this helps someone...

hmm. i just ran into this problem with an aol user today. it may have always been a problem with me, but this is the first time one of my users has brought it to my attention -- an AOL user told me he was having problems registering today and received an 403 error. i'm running:

joomla 1.0.12 Stable
cb 1.0.2
*also, SEF Advance 5.0 with cb extension

like some previous posters, it doesn't affect everyone. in fact, this aol user today is my first knowledge of the problem, so i haven't realy done much testing with it. i just manually registered him and then came across this post. have any new solutions been found?

With CB version 1.0.2, setting the Joomla security to level 2 fixes the proxy issue but not AOL issue. This is a problem with Community Builder Registration and AOL browser. After login AOL user can us a site without end user issues.

Until the CB team fixes this issue with AOL browser compatibility, you can either hack the code up, switch to the simple Joomla registration, or have a message telling AOL users what browsers are compatible (MSIE, Mozilla, FireFox, etc...) and instruct them to switch to one of these after the login to AOL and register.
