Hi, gang. I thought I'd release this here, as the other related thread is several pages long, and I didn't want this to get lost. I apologize if I'm breaking protocol.

Enclosed please find my working CB-SMF plugins. The zipped package consists of a README file and one big ZIP. This zipped file, in turn, contains three individual plugins. All of this is explained in the README file. Again, please read the README file and follow instructions.

I AM NOT a CB expert - far from it. I simply did this because I actually need the functionality, and am releasing it to hopefully help out others.

Please note: These files have officially been turned over to the Joomlahacks Team for further development and improvement. Based upon what I've learned from Wolverine (team leader) the next verion of the Joomlahacks bridge promises to be feature-loaded, and tie in even better with CB. As such, I won't be developing these myself any further. I did try to add enough comments in the code for those of you who love to tinker.

Therefore, I'm releasing these here to give the CB community SMF functionality while Joomlahacks continues to work on them. I don't know if this works with the "official" SMF bridge, so please test.

That said, again, I hope this holds you over until Joomlahacks makes their next release.

Regards,
Brat.

[Original zip removed]. Please use the corrected version of this package available later in this thread!

Many many thanks for this. I hope the Joomlahacks people will keep the plugins working in a way that support those of us that don't use their bridge?

I've so far had the following issues which I'll post on their site...

* If I try to click on smf-info or smf-posts in the plug-in management area I get a message saying there is a hack attempt

* If I choose to use CB avatar, my 100 by 80 thumbnail gets turns into an 80 by 80 one

Thnaks again.

Phil

Hmm... about the avatar, is your CB avatar being improperly resized in CB, or in SMF? In SMF, you can set the default size of your avatar. Did you check your SMF settings to see if this is what's affecting your avatar on the forum? I'll double-check the code, but there is nothing I'm aware of that would affect your avatar size.

Regarding the hacking attempt, you know, I got that on some test installations but not others. There is probably something in Joomla that's causing this reaction. I thought I'd fixed that, but I'll check again.

Again, the code draws from SMF's native codebase. In theory, it shouldn't matter what bridge you use, as everything is pulled from SMF itself and not bridge software - but, then again, that's why it's called theory.

Let me take a look and see what's going on. Thanks for the fedback.

Regards,
Brat.

Hello again. Had to do all kinds of upgrades to my lab first.

There is something I'd forgotten to note about these plugins...

There are no parameters, etc., to set for this version. So, if you actually click on the plugin name in the CB backend, you get a "Hacking attempt" message. In other words, for now, don't click the user names. Admittedly, the plugins are a "down and dirty" solution to address a current problem (namely, to provide a CB way to display SMF information) until a more elegant solution becomes available.

You can publish and unpublish them, but nothing else, really. Again, these are just to tide people over until better versions come out (which hopefully won't be too much longer).

That said, I'm reuploading the zipped files. I screwed up and uploaded the developer zip, and not the neater release package. Sorry about that!

Regards,
Brat.

Hey, all. I found my screw up that causes the "Hacking attempt..." error message.

Quite simply... I put some require statements in the wrong place. Mea Culpa.

I'm cleaning up the code now, and I will re-upload these in a bit. I'm simply too sleepy to trust myself right now.

Thanks for your patience!

Regards,
Brat.
