I'm at a disadvantage because I'm not a coder so I don't know exactly what kinds of things are possible yet. But here's what I was thinking.

What if we had a new "field type" that you could use when creating a new field to put inside a tab... the field type could be "mosmodule" (based on the excellent mambot of the same name) and the parameters could be something like "module to display", "show only to profile owner", "text above", "text below", etc.

With a field type, it would make a lot of things possible. Each user could have a weather module display, for example, or have the uddeIM module "you have XX messages" somewhere, etc.

Is this a monumental request? Is this a good learning project that I could be involved with to begin learning how to code in php?

Ideas?
