Many of you have asked how can I change the profile links in phpBB to point to CB's user profile and also about removing register links and login links...

Well here is an answer... Finally just sat down and plugged away. In this zip file is a README.txt file which briefly explains how to get these to work. Basically you just modify 1 file to indicate the root of your Joomla site, then ftp a few files up to your site... then done.

Note: The template changes in this zip are for the subSilver template... If you need I can post what changed to remove the links and login box... they were pretty easy... that way you can apply those to other templates.

Anyway here is the ZIP file... (AND these apply to phpbb 2.0.21 not tested with anything else)

well this really messed up my db
but i fixed it again.
it went totally wrong.
gave me some errors and couldnt even see my forum any more only the suroundings of template...

in the readme file it says update the 'cbc_joomla_root_url' variable in 'inc_cbconnector.php' ********* VERY IMPORTANT

but maybe i editet it wrong can you tell me exactly what to put in as url? is it just my website or the forum page ?

so thougd i figured it out couse im not using jos_ but gxc_
so i edited the inc_ again but now i get

Ok i fixed it

I had to add a new field called cb_forumid
also in the database once i made it the forum started to work
well so for all of you who gets the same problem try it.

all it takes is some reading

only thing i need to know now is what you changed couse i really want to use my own template

Thanks for posting these messages... in my excitment for getting this done... I posted some modifications that need some additional error trapping... (and the cb_forumid... that is the field name in CB Connector... used to be cb_phpbbid... let me take the ZIP file off for a while.. and post a version that works with v1.0.2 and has some extra error trapping.

A side note: the profile links as setup in this ZIP file show the CB profiles... so for phpBB users that are not syncd up using the phpbb connector... no profile will be available. So you will only want to do this if your users are syncd.

let me post up a new ZIP later tonight... and I will try to remove the 1 I posted earlier if I can.

Here is the updated file. In the includes file the inc_cbconnector.php has some variables that can turn off the profile links if desired. This will re-route the register link for sure.

In the templates directory... near line 73 in the
<!-- BEGIN switch_user_logged_out -->
area is where the login box at the bottom was removed and replaced with text and a link to your main site (as defined in inc_cbconnector.php)


If overall_header.php after the same line is where it shows the register link... in the NO REGISTER LINK version of that file you will notice that I simply deleted that line of code. And on line 242 I removed the login/logout link at the end of the line.

Enjoy! As said earlier this may be a little early since no publicly released version of CB Connector has the ability to modify the phpbb Profile (only in V2.0.0 alpha)... but here is the code for those that might use it...
