I had to reinstall community builder and the log-in module. After doing that a person can register through the community builder log-in just fine. It creates an account for them. The first time they try to log-in it says invalid password so I have to reset the password for each new user. But once that happens an they try to log-in after approval) nothing happens.

The items that are set to be viewed by registered users never appear. It also doesn't affect the who's online module, and the other modules that were set to view once someone logs in.
