character coding

character coding was created by LenaMarie
At first i like to say hello to everybody and thanks a lot for your great work.
The last few days i have made my first steps in Joomla and one of my first add on was CB 1.1. I have worked with PostNuke for several years, so CMS in general are not completely new.
The initial German language problem could be solved as described here but now i have the problem, that it looks like a character coding mismatch between the core and CB.
The core seems to produce utf-8 and all output from CB seems to be ISO-8859-1.
Is there any point where i can tell CB to use utf instead of ISO?

Thanks a lot for your help,

Lena.

Lena, I'm not sure how far back it goes, but I know at least 1.2 is using UTF-8. (I found a post by Beat made a while back that CB converted to UTF-8.)

Hey Jamie!
Thanks a lot for your very fast reply.
That sounds really good so i don't have to wriggle anymore, just sit down and wait for the release of CB 1.2.
As you can see i'm (by now) not CB-Doc subscriber, so i think i have to wait for a while :-(

Greetings,

Lena.

Glad I could help. I think you'll see that the new version is well worth the doc subscription, even if you wait for public release. There are hundreds of hours, tons of new features and a lot more more flexibility. In case you hadn't heard, CB and Groupjive have teamed up too! There are a lot of good things coming in the future.
:cheer:
