Using Joomla 1.0.12 and CB 1.1

Usernames that are already in use are not checked for when another user registers. The ajax compent shows that the username is in use, but the form submits anyway. The alert box appears if the username is not entered, or is under 3 characters

Yes, correct, however the server will reject the existing username, and only password field would have to be retyped for security reasons.

This username-check is an experimental feature which turned out to be a good success. So thank you for your suggestion, moving to feature requests.
