i've been trying to understand protect privacy for registered users. this is my scenerio:

1. a user (A) will sign up.
2. (A) gets to log in and see "contact info" and "additional info" and can edit profile.
3. Now ( signs up.
4. ( can do what (A) does to his own profile.
5. When ( views (A) profile in userlist, ( can only see "additional info"
6. similarly, anyone in the public (everybody) can see anyone's "additional info" only.
7. conclusion: "contact ifo" is absolutely private to (A), and superadmin only.

how to set this by superadmin in backend? please help...

You can use Privacy Policy plugin or Advanced Profile Component for these.

hi mikko, thanks for your prompt reply. i really not sure how to do it. maybe communication breakdown here. let me rephrase again.

X is current user --> access own contact info and additional info

Y is current user --> access own contact info and additional info.

Y --> CANNOT access X's contact info BUT CAN access X's additional info

Superadmin --> can do anything.

privacy plugin is for the user (X or Y) to choose what to make public or private, but what i want is unanimously set the access level at the backend and presto make it work.

In reference to the Invite Plugin, this is what i mean. when X login, X access his contact info, additional info and invite tab. Y login, CANNOT access X's invite tab. Thus, what i mean is to make contact info tab like the invite tab. ONLY FOR CURRENT USER, no one else.

i think make it shorter, cos i'm also confused by what i'm writing.

How do you set a tab (contact info only) for the current logged user only? that is, contact info is private access only to the user himself, but all the rest of the tabs (like additional info etc ) are available for public view.

You can modify Privacy Policy to force the privacy settings.

Or you can get Advanced Profile Control that does this without any modifications and has a good documentation.
