So I've been working on a small script that displays the age.

I've got a field for the date of birth and created a delimiter field. In this field I'd like to add a java script to calculate the current age.
This shouldn't be a big problem, however I've got no idea how to get the date of birth in order to calculate the current age.

What I'd like to do:
Get date of birth
get todays date
calculate age (dob-today)
display age

any help would be apreciated

there is an existing plugin form djtrail...
please search in forum for djtrail

What EXACTLY did you mean ? "age on status ?"

It shows the age, not more not less.

The plugin shows the age only in the statusbar (last login, member since ...) but you are not able to show the calculated age in a user defined tab (personal informations ie).

you can take the parte whre he calculates the age - and put in a helloworld plugin which is offered here on joomlapolis...

then you can show the tab everywhre you want
