Is it possible to add a contact in multiple categories. Creating new contact with the same contactinformation for each category should not be necessary. And is it also possible to add a different function to the contact for each category?

I found an interesting contact component:

The contact directory is not exactly what I need. You can add the same contact to multiple categories, but all with the same position/ function.

Is it difficult to change the CB contact component, so that I can add the same contact to multiple categories, each with a different position.

- I have multiple committees, with many people.

- Each person can hold different posts on different committees.

- Each person can also hold multiple posts on one committee.

It should not require me to enter the details of the same person more than once. The people should per post should be selected from a drop down box. Any specific details relating to the post should be editable though.

Anybody got anything that links with the CB User List?

Will CB Contacts be updated to allow a contact in multiple categories? i.e. just take the contacts personal details from the profile table in the db and then add any other fields to the contact in cb contacts.


Example:
User is on multiple committees.

Committee 1, the user is chairman and has a role descriptions of xxxxxxxx

Committee 2, the user is the secretary and has a role description of yyyyyyyyyy

The user has the same contact details or can have different details depending upon the role profile (i.e.
- This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
or
- This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it & This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it )

It's highly advised to upgrade to CB 1.2 for a huge myriad of additional features (especially for documentation subscribers who currently have access to numerous plugins not available to non-subscribers). In addition, all known bugs have been fixed (and the 1.1 list is looooooong)!

Connections, the Privacy Plugin and the upcoming Subscriptions Plugin will do everything and more that you are requesting.
