This thread discusses the Content article: Work in Progress

Please no one more RC, CB is stable enough to published as stable (and then finally all 3RD Party Developers can make plugins for it). But it sounds very good, 6th December is ok when it will be the stable release.

Well Thats not true, CB issn't stable Bugs are found everyday and becourse CB 1.2 is going to include alot of new features whitch have to be tested again and again we just have to wait a bit longer,

I've tested the pre beta test 1.2 rc4 with groupjive 1.7 pre rc on J1.5 and its rilly nice, Your eyes are going to fall out when you see it!

Don't forget CB is a free component so be happy that Beat and Nick are willing to gif alot of thare free time for this community

@ stefanrenne

A component like CB will never be bug-free, that's impossible. Ask Microsoft they spent billions of dollars to make a bug-free operating system with large beta phases and although their operating systems aren't bug-free.

Yes there are still bugs in CB (and there would be bugs in CB 1.2 RC 50) but the bugs aren't very important so there really could be a stable version. And when every RC becomes more functionalities then we will never see a stable version..

Good article and I've read through the presenation. Some interesting stuff - and that template looks really nice

I have a concern with the second last slide though - "future plans".

CB 1.3
Giving admin option to allow more user control
Ajax Front End
Widgets and Web Apps Support
Q1 2009

CB 2.0
Fully Web 2.0
Fully Customizable Profiles
Multi-Sites Support
Community Mashups
Q3 2009

Does this mean we can expect CB 1.3 released before 31/03/2009 and CB 2.0 before 30/09/2009? I never doubt the ammount of work the CB developrs put into this project, and I'm very grateful for the work they put in. But setting those expectations is very risky, considering most it's been a bit of a challenge getting this far with CB 1.2...

That's the plan - those are the goals. However economies collapse and countries declare bankrupcy and we are people also. Yes, the risk factor is very high. And with any risk assessment excersice one must take into account all factors and parameters.

You guies kill me !

First you really talk about a RC4 ???? Let's make things clear:

CB 1.2 RC3 is the most stable CB to date (quoting the CB team). It is even better than CB 1.1. So the ONLY reason to keep the project in RC is... to force people to pay a subscription. Talking about a RC4 is simply a shame.

Second:
"we have designed and implemented a new Joomla & CB template named “MyCommunity” which will be offered commercially very soon"

Are you serious ??? Do you really plan to propose a decent template commercially whereas CB basic will keep this ugly "template" (I do not even want to call "template" the current ugly tabs).

Come on guies ! Wake up ! Joomunity and Jomsocial are proposing beautiful and user friendly templates, easy administration and real support and service (even really FREE for joomunity). And you guies think you can afford, after months of lies and blabla, to SELL a template.

Seriously... you are right thinking time will be hard for CB. Not because of the economic crisis but because you really think we are dumb !
