That was brutal.
I stuck with the signup process for two days just to ask a simple question here.

It ended up being partially sheer perversity to see if I could do it.

I submitted my rather extensive registration info. Waited a couple of hours for the confirmation mail (ok so I went and did a couple of other things, but I could have really been sitting there refreshing my inbox)

When the confirmation e-mail didn't show up I thought perhaps there was an error. I came back to joomlapolis and tried logging in to no avail. Hit the lost password to see if the mailer worked...

The replacement password showed up 20 minutes later. Tried logging in with that an got a your account hasn't been approved message.

The confirmation e-mail finally showed up the next morning. I clicked only to be informed that the adminstrators would now consider my application....

The second confirmation e-mail came a few hours later saying that the powers that be had approved me and I could login (by the way if you're going to imply human intervention you may want to remove the "This email was automatically generated " tagline:(

Finally... success... oops... not quite.... of course I had reset my password and tossed the reset password e-mail and cleared my mail trash.... had to reset it again (the e-mail only took about 15 minutes this time)

and here I am....

Might want to consider streamlining this a little. I've done less work to register a car...

Although... it is one feature that actually drew me to CB. I like the "human intervention" part but I guess it depends on the site content and the reasoning...

Perhaps I missunderstood the purpose of this site as the "home of Community Builder" I would have thought one of the main functions would be to provide information for those considering using CB.

If that's the case there would have to be a much more streamlined path to asking a question.

Is it possible to implement 2 or more of the 4 registration workflows simultaneously? You could have a quick question registration that just checks for a valid e-mail and is more or less instant, then use the extended registration to actually join the community, work on development, post hacks...Quick question users could auto-expire after a couple of weeks...
