hey,

i am having the same problem... users were able to upload the photos as avatars before, but they are not able to now. I saw the solution to turn of the 404 SEF... however, this component is off and users can still not upload files.. have any other solutions been found????

thanks for your help

Encountering this problem too. But thing is it was working just yesterday. The only change to my site between yesterday and today was when I requested my webhost to change the permissions for components/com_joomlaboard to 777 so I could upload the view.php file which I had edited to cater for uddeIM. Could that have been the issue?

My webhost just confirmed with me that the folder permissions for images/comprofiler/ are still 755 and no change to the owner. So apparently that ain't the problem.

Problem resolved. Apparently the folder permission had to be set to 777.
