[#2699] Links to article creation not working post-upgrade

12 years 8 months ago #171648 by rstoffiere
I had to go all the way back to 1.0.3 before the links would stop throwing the 403 errors. Then, I tried upgrading one version at a time. The link stopped working as soon as I went one version up to 1.1.0.

Could you please answer me this - how would I have generated the long URL in the previous post? I do not remember how I got that, but the menu item points to that specific URL (menu type External URL).

CB or CBSubs generate the links. Those are links generated by Joomla and found on the "List Layout" of a category.

Interesting find, but I though this had previously worked for you? What version were you using before upgrading to CBSubs 1.2.2? Its been awhile sense we checked on the content integration and appears it may have broken partially with a previous release. We've a bug ticket in place however and absolutely confirmed the issue in 1.2.2. We'll be reviewing a potential fix for 1.2.3 if/when possible.

LOL - I was using 1.0.3 up until the other day!!

I used CBSubs with this client primarily for the content integration. There are not paid memberships. I also use it to assign DOCMan groups as well, but that is secondary to this. I think what I will do is utilize the Admin-User-Access component for managing which content areas the client's users can edit. I will continue to use CBSubs, which I will upgrade, for things like DOCMan groups, GroupJive groups, etc, and just remove the content restriction piece.

I am glad that you guys have confirmed it as an issue, because I know it's not just me. Your user base for CBSubs must not utilize the content restriction piece that often if this has not come up before.

Thanks for the help.

I have heard nothing further on this, and there has still been no new release of CBSubs. Has this plugin been abandoned? Will this content integration ever be fixed? I am preparing a quote for a site overhaul for my client that has been using CBSubs for several years, and I need to know whether I should proceed under the assumption that I will use your product. If there is no clear path for CBSubs, please let me know so I may look for a different product.
