Excellent, I managed to solve this problem with help of geeffland's explanation!

Make sure CB integration is on in the Joomlaboard settings (configuration -> Integration)
Create a new tab in the admin backend (CB -> tab managament) called "Forum Settings".
Create a field in the admin backend (CB -> field management) like this:

Type: Drop Down (Single Select)
Tab: Forum Settings
Name: sbordering (not with the cb_ prefix, check this if you have problems accomplishing this)
Description: whatever you like, displays in the hovermessage to your users
Required: No
Show on profile: No
User Read Only?: No
Show at Registration?: No
Published: Yes

Values:
_UE_SB_ORDERING_OLDEST
_UE_SB_ORDERING_LATEST

You can do the same for the prefered viewtype (threaded or flat) with fieldname sbviewtype and the values _UE_SB_VIEWTYPE_FLAT and _UE_SB_VIEWTYPE_THREADED

(1.1.2) Joomlaboard > Config > integration > Create Community Builder forum profile . I clicked it and fields were creted in CB and Forum Setting Tab is showing.

That's the normal procedure, yeah.
But I, like the original poster I suspect, have deleted some fields when configuring. And my post describes how to add them again manually

Indeed, I cannot use the normal integration procedure, because I want to use the Simplebaord Avatar Gallery, and another user image (in CB) seperately.
