I haven't delved much into coppermine, but, I am very interested. One concern about the album creation on registration is on some sites this will create thousands of albums and many even a majority will be empty.Maybe there could just be a big button in the Coppermine tab of a users profile (if they have not yet created an ablum) "click here to create a photo album" or something. Maybe coppermine is organized in such a way that having thousands of empty albums will not make it difficult to find the once that are not empty.

I agree with dave.

In my hacked zoom i only create a album if it does not exist on the upload page

So a user tries to upload pics and just before that the album is selected and if not exists, is created.

This results if obviously far less empty directories on the harddisc.

Heres the solution, If the user is logged in and viewing his/her profile, and have no albums, there will be a form to enter the album name and create their first album .
