This software looks great and I plan to use it when released, but I had an idea regarding licensing and costs.

How about releasing the software at no cost, but charging subscriptions for support? That way you can charge for say a year of support for X number of dollars, but if people really want to go it on their own, they can.

Even if it is commercial I'd be likely to get it, however, because for the idea I have for a site it is a necessity.

*Note: I am not saying your software is "worthless" as you afforementioned. I am saying to satisfy open source people, while still covering your costs. Support would be the way you could do it, and a 1 year subscription to your support could be say $40, and people would renew as needed.

I think if everyone thinks like that, there will be no incentives for developers to create simple to use software. Every software will be so difficult to configure and use (and even buggy) so people will keep going back for support lol
