Showing selected profiles on one site

12 years 1 month ago #193599 by MSTCO
Hello,
i wonder if it's possible to show selected profiles in list on one site. The idea is to create lists for different groups like Team A, Team B and Team C.

In the ideal situation the Site would look nearly like this:

Person 1

Picture Area Position
Picture Area Age
Picture Area Gender
Picture Area Member since
Picture Area Interests

Person 2

Picture Area Position
Picture Area Age
Picture Area Gender
Picture Area Member since
Picture Area Interests

Person 3

Picture Area Position
Picture Area Age
Picture Area Gender
Picture Area Member since
Picture Area Interests

Is this possible with CB? So i would have a teamsite and all persons can administrate their own profil.

Greetings,

Martin

Hello,

Which version of Joomla / Community Builder are you using? These instructions are for J1.7 / CB 1.7

How To Create A Community Builder User List:

Components > Community Builder > List Management
  • Create a new list by clicking the 'New List' button on the right
  • Name your list (e.g.: 'Team A')
  • Select options such as 'Groups To Include', 'Groups Who Have Access To View', how the list will be sorted, etc.

  • Select which fields to include (only 4 columns available though) within the columns
  • Be sure to 'Enable' each additional column that you intend to use.
  • Save your list.

Note the direct link to the userlist at the top of the page in the event you want to add a menu item link to that list.

Repeat this process for additional lists (e.g.: 'Team B', 'Team C')

Thank you, this brings me one step closer to what i want :)

But... there is a little but, can i hide the combo box? When i got some lists there is a box on every site. I rather like to hide it and link every team by myself in the menu.

I didn't found an option for this button.

This post should get you started.
Keep in mind that core edits aren't supported by CB so backup your site before proceeding.

Great, it works :) But for my sake i forget to ask for more. Because even without the Box there is the text which tell you which userlist it is, how many users in there and the search field? Can i remove that to?

Than i just have the List :)

So this is another core hack that isn't advisable nor supported...but if you really want to disable the 'User(s): [total]' from your userlists (and yes, I mean ALL lists) here's a way to do it:

Warning: Spoiler!

I know it's not pretty but it works on my end.
Good luck
